Cinny is an open-source Matrix client for real-time messaging and collaboration. It connects to Matrix servers to let users send messages, join rooms, and participate in secure chats with end-to-end encryption.
Unlike centralized messaging apps, Cinny uses the Matrix protocol — an open, decentralized, secure standard for communication. This means you can choose or self-host your server, retain control of your data, and still talk with others across many Matrix clients.
Cinny runs in your web browser (at app.cinny.in), or you can install desktop builds. Once you log into a Matrix account — from any Matrix server — you can chat in rooms, organize DMs vs channels, and use encryption. The interface prioritizes simplicity, organized navigation, and calm visuals.
