Redash is a tool that lets technical teams query and visualize data from many sources so they can share dashboards, track KPIs and democratize insights.

Overview

Redash is a web-based analytics platform that lets you connect to many data sources (SQL, NoSQL, APIs), run queries, build visualizations and share dashboards across your team.

If you have multiple data stores and want to enable your team (analysts, product, growth) to ask questions independently and share results, Redash gives you a unified interface. It cuts down on the need for ad-hoc scripts or engineering help just to run reports. It supports scheduled refreshes and sharing, so insights become repeatable and visible.

Connect your data source(s) (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, MongoDB, etc) via built-in integrations.

Use the SQL editor (with auto-complete, schema browser, snippets) to write and execute queries.

Transform results into charts, tables, maps, pivot tables, funnels, sunburst/word-cloud etc.

FAQ

Can I use Redash commercially and host it myself?
Yes — the open-source version allows self-hosting and you manage infrastructure, updates and configuration. You own your data and dashboards.
Is there a hosted cloud plan with support?
Yes — there are managed hosting options (either through Redash or partner providers) for which you pay monthly. Pricing varies and you should ask for a quote.
How many data sources can I connect?
In the self-hosted version you can install and connect as many as you configure your infrastructure to support. Some hosted plans may impose limits on number of data sources or query refreshes.
Do I need to know SQL?
Yes — Redash is built around SQL or query languages. While dashboards and sharing are user-friendly, creating new queries typically requires SQL skills.
Can I embed dashboards or share externally?
Yes — Redash supports sharing via URL, embedding widgets, public links and scheduled reports.
Does Redash train on my data or use my dashboards to train models?
Since many users self-host, data remains in your environment. If you use a hosted service, review the vendor’s data-use/privacy policy. Open-source version means you control everything.
What do I get on a higher plan vs basic?
With managed/hosted plans you typically get: more sources, higher refresh/scheduling limits, advanced permissions/SSO, dedicated support and possibly SLA. For self-hosted you scale by your infrastructure.
