ZenTao is an application lifecycle management (ALM) and project-management platform, originally open-source, aimed at software development teams. It covers product management (stories/backlog/roadmap), project management (tasks, sprints, Gantt), QA/test management (bugs, test-cases) and more.
If you’re a development team (or product+QA+project combo) you typically juggle many tools: backlog system, bug tracker, test-management, release tracking, etc. ZenTao brings many of those into one system. That means fewer integrations, clearer traceability (requirements → tasks → bugs → release) and potentially lower tool-cost / simpler setup. For teams working agile, hybrid (scrum/kanban) or even waterfall+agile mix, it gives a unified backbone.
You choose a deployment: there is an open-source edition (self-hosted) and premium editions with more features. You import/define your product(s), plan releases/roadmaps, break into stories/tasks, assign teams, track bugs/tests. Reports and dashboards provide BI-style insights. Integrations with version control (e.g., Git/SVN) and CI are available.
