Telegram is a cloud-based, cross-platform messaging app that works on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux and web browsers. It allows you to send messages, make voice and video calls, share files and media, join or create groups and channels, and use bots and mini-apps.
If you’re a founder, marketer, creator or community-manager looking for more than just 1-to-1 chat — say large groups, broadcast channels, multi-device sync and file sharing without big size limits — Telegram offers a strong, feature-rich alternative to many typical messengers. It also appeals if you care about privacy-oriented messaging (though see caveats below).
You sign up with a phone number, install Telegram on your devices, and your chats sync across devices (except for special “Secret Chats” where end-to-end encryption is optional). You can create groups up to 200,000 members, public channels with unlimited followers, and use bots/extensions for automation.
