Basecamp is a web-based project management and team collaboration platform. It combines message boards, to-do lists, scheduling, file storage, group chat (and direct messaging), and project overview tools — all under one roof.
If your team is juggling multiple tools (chat app + file storage + task tracker + email) and things feel scattered, Basecamp offers a simpler, centralised workspace. It’s particularly useful for small to midsize teams (freelancers, agencies, creative teams) who want to reduce tool-overhead and get clarity on who’s doing what and when.
You create “projects” in Basecamp. Each project holds message boards, to-dos (tasks), schedules (deadlines/milestones), file/docs storage, group chat (Campfires) or direct messages (Pings).
You can invite external clients/guests for free in many cases, and connect/override tools you already use (Dropbox, Google Docs, Figma) via link-ups.
